As per Police a speeding Jaguar hit a Mercedes, following which it lost control and got dashed into a traffic control booth at the corner of the road intersection where three pedestrians had taken shelter to save them selves from rain.
Son of Owner of Arsalan restaurant chain “Parwez Arsalan”, Age 22 was driving the Jaguar.
After the incidence, Kolkata Police arrests Mr. Parwez Arslan, son of a popular restaurant chain owner of his speeding car mowed down two Bangladeshi nations who were taking shelter to save themselves from the rain at a traffic control booth of traffic police installed on a road intersection.
The sad accident took place at the Shakespeare Sarani and Loudon Street crossing around 1.50am on Saturday.
Both the Bangladeshi nationals were rushed to the nearby SSKM Hospital where doctors declared them “brought dead”.
Mr. Parwez Arsalan, Age 22 is son of the owner of Arsalan restaurant chain, He was driving the Jaguar. Both Parwez Arsalan and the passengers travelling in the Mercedes suffered minor injuries.
The two Bangladeshi nationals who lost their lives in the accident are: Farhana Islam Tania (Age 30), a resident of Dhaka, and Kazi Md Mainul Alam (Age 36), from Jhenaidah district in Bangladesh.
As per police said they were in Kolkata for treatment.
The Kolkata Police has seized the Jaguar after the incidence. It bears a registration number WB 20AU 9797. As per police it belongs to the owner of popular Arsalan restaurant chain in Kolkata.
Meanwhile, after the incidence the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata has also sought information about the accident from the Kolkata Police.
This accident comes just a day after the BJP MP Roopa Ganguly’s son was also booked for rash driving. Ms. Ganguly’s son Akash had rammed his car into the boundary wall of one of the posh South Kolkata club on Thursday night.
