PM’s oath on 30th May 2019: BJP invites families of 54 BJP workers killed in the political violence in West Bengal in a couple of years.
The families of 50+ workers killed in West Bengal have been invited to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s oath ceremony.
The decision was taken in a five-hour meet between PM Modi and Amit Shah.
“A list of special invitees is ready and will soon be given to the Rashtrapati Bhavan,” said sources.
The BJP workers in West Bengal were allegedly killed over the past years during several incidences, say party leaders.
That they have been given special place among 7,000 invitees to PM Modi’s second inauguration is intended as a big message ahead of the 2021 assembly election in Bengal, say sources.
Where as West Bengal Chief Minister Smt Mamata Banerjee confirmed receiving an invite to PM Modi’s oath and indicated that she would attend the ceremony, as it was her constitutional obligation as Chief Minister.
